Learning Support
At DISV, we are committed to inclusive education. We believe that every child deserves access to a high-quality, meaningful education, and our Learning Support team works to ensure that students with specific learning needs are able to reach their full potential.
Our Approach
Our Learning Support specialists work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and external professionals to identify students who may benefit from additional support. Once a student's needs are understood, we develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that sets clear goals, outlines the support strategies to be used, and defines how progress will be measured.
Support may be delivered in a variety of ways: through differentiation within the classroom, small group sessions, one-to-one work with a specialist, or a combination of approaches tailored to the individual child. We work to ensure that support is always delivered with dignity, and that students are empowered to understand and advocate for their own learning needs.
Partnership with Families
We recognise that families are the experts on their own children, and we value close collaboration with parents throughout the support process. Regular meetings, open communication, and shared goal-setting ensure that the strategies used at school can be reinforced and supported at home. We welcome families to reach out to our Learning Support team at any time with questions or concerns.
