Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the Secondary School at Danube International School Vienna. I am delighted to welcome you — whether you are a new student finding your feet in a new country, a family exploring options for your child, or a returning member of our community. Secondary School at DISV is a place of serious academic purpose, genuine human warmth, and unlimited personal possibility.

Our students follow the IB Middle Years Programme in Grades 6 to 10, and the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12 — two of the most respected educational frameworks in the world. We are immensely proud of our students' achievements: the Class of 2025 achieved a 100% IB Diploma pass rate, with a five-year average score of 34.5. These results reflect not only exceptional teaching, but the courage, determination, and intellectual curiosity of our students. University preparation is integrated throughout Secondary School, with dedicated guidance to help every student identify and pursue the right pathway for their future.

But DISV is far more than exam results. Secondary School is the time when young people discover who they are and what they care about. Our students lead, create, serve, and challenge themselves through our rich programme of arts, sports, community action, and student leadership.
